Most things worth having are worth working for. Satan will tell you that maintaining a healthy relationship with Christ, the word, and the church isn't worth the effort. Satan will tell you it's better, easier to walk away and just do your own thing. Satan will tell you lies he knows has worked before to lead others away.
The book of Hebrews tells us that what God has planned for us is bigger, better, greater, and longer-lasting than anything we could imagine. Chapter 4 tells us about a rest that is coming after the hard work of faithfully serving as Christians. Verse 11 reminds us that what we're chasing after is worth working for. We have and daily choice between obedience and disobedience. Loyalty to the Kingdom of God will be rewarded.
Hebrews 4:11-12 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
